Maradona's 'Hand of God' shirt to be sold by Steve Hodge
https://www.theguardian.com/football/2022/apr/06/maradonas-shirt-from-hand-of-god-england-match-estimated-to-sell-for-4m

Price estimate .... £4 million

Bet the other players regret being slow off the mark in claiming it on the pitch that day

Always thought nabbing that shirt was a shrewd move!

It's not the classic stripey Argentina shirt but still, it should fetch a few bob

Still to this day don't know why Robson replaced Alvin after a 3-0 win over Paraguay with Terry Fenwick! Pity Bryan Robson was injured, I suspect he would have just fouled him rather than jog behind like Peter Reid!

Catching Maradona to ask for his shirt was probably the fastest Steve Hodge ever moved. The cunt.

Re: Maradona's 'Hand of God' shirt to be sold by Steve Hodge
Hodge in his (rather dull) autobiography:

"It’s not for sale. I am not trying to sell it."

Hodge after he's told how much it would fetch:

"Get fookin' Southeby's on't phone...I were reet mates with Madonna..."

Re: Maradona's 'Hand of God' shirt to be sold by Steve Hodge
I love the fact that the English media still refer to it as the 'Hand of God' match, rather than the 'Greatest goal ever scored at a World Cup' game...

The first was a cheating wankstain of an act.
The second was absolute fucking genius.

And I still think Lineker was fouled for what would have been the penalty after Barnes' cross. Shoved under the ball as he was about to head the equaliser.

What a game.

4 fucking mil? I remember reading some time ago that it valued at approx 250k. It's been on display at some museum in Manchester in recent years.

Cannot believe that Hodge beat “Huffers” to it.

Zico - Robson was asked that question in the Robbo documentary (which is a really good watch btw). He said, IIRC, something along the lines of “yeah, I’d have taken him out before he got into his stride”

I've got my ticket for this game safely tucked away - bit of a dilemma as to whether to start selling or keep hold

Tickets from "significant" games are going for crazy money at the moment, especially anything Messi, Ronaldo, Maradona or Beckham related

A ticket for Bobby Moore's debut in 1958 v Manchester United is on eBay at the moment, £167 with three days to go

Peanuts really when you consider a ticket at home to ManU nowadays will probably set
You back nearly half that
